Watch for a Jump in Your Follower Count
It appears there’s a new trick already being employed against Twitter users who cross the wrong people, apparently. It appears they’re deploying a script to inflate people’s follower accounts in a short amount of time, triggering a “follower churn” suspension. Here’s an idea of what to look for :
It should be noted that you shouldn’t look for these specific users, but profiles that have this look. Picture, bio, zero tweets, few followers and apparently somewhere around 80 follows.
The user this happened to had their follower count jump to over 50,000 in under an hour.
At this point, it’s likely it’s a way to find the threshold to trip the suspension feature. Keep an eye out.
